WHAT'S THE BIGGEST DIFFERENCE WITH THE LANDING CLASSIC '24?

Simple, 4 fields - all the same age groups! Why is this important? Because it’s not about the Coaches and not about the Parents - these tournaments are about the kids. Yes, we’re excited to announce we’ll have a dedicated “A” and dedicated “B/C” tournament to keep the competition fair across the board - so logistically and strategically speaking, nothing changes. But find me something better than your players / kids running diamond to diamond to see their classmates or hockey teammates hit bombs.

We had our “aha” moment this year we watched a 9u Grand Island team hang over the outfield fence screaming and cheering for another 9u Grand Island team who had a chance to walk it off. What happened? Walk off, literally. The kids stormed the field as if THEY just won the game. The boys were cheering for their friends like it was Game 7 of the World Series. What made it even better, they played each other in the very next game and enjoyed every single inning against their classmates and neighborhood friends. Kids want to win, yes - nobody will debate that. But more than winning, these kids still have the luxury of enjoying their friends successes without jealousy or a hidden agenda. Let’s keep it that way as long as we possibly can.

The goal of The Landing Classic ‘24, as most our programs at 3&2 Baseball, is to grow the game. We’ve played and coached in more tournaments around this country than we can count. We sat down and talked for hours about what we think works and what doesn’t. One of the most overlooked details of tournaments we found was the mixing of age groups just based on “skill level”. So with that it was an easy decision to throw it out the window. We’re now excited to announce that every weekend will be one age only!

WHAT ARE THE AGE DIVISIONS AND SKILL LEVELS? WHEN CAN WE REGISTER?

We'll have weekends for 9u - 10u - 11u - 12u with the dates released September 1st, 2023. Each weekend will have a dedicated "A" bracket maxed out at 12-teams. Then we'll have a "B/C" bracket also maxed at 12-teams. This allows the park to be packed with friends from all teams, while competing in a fair and evenly matched tournament.
As far as registration, I'd suggest setting an alarm for September 1st at 10am. We're not 100% sure if it will sell out right away, but based on feedback from year one - we're trying to give the heads up to all Coaches now that it's a likely possibility.
